Thank you Core Shark H20 and Jen for visiting the center and teaching our classes all about the crabs in the Chesapeake Bay. The students got to experience hands on learning by being up-close and personal with a crab (claws were held under the crab for the experience). We learned the life cycle of a crab, molting process, what is a sponge crab and the difference among the male and female crabs (bottom of shell shape and claw colors). We learned about the crabbers and tools they use to catch crabs. Mrs. Jen even brought a crab pot and showed us where the crabs enter and what bait they love to eat. Thank you Jen for such an amazing experience and lesson on the Chesapeake Bay. What a wonderful visit.
